Originally it was developed by Quillsoft Ltd. and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto; Frasier Shein was mainly the person responsible for its development. Quillsoft doesn't seem to exist anymore. GoQSoftware is the publisher now (maybe just a name change) and the software is distributed in the United States by ST4Learning and in Canada by Strategic Transitions. Strategic Transitions would be a good place to contact for more info.P.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12675550764618413030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2881524300907575797.post-59695090043880375842014-11-23T22:49:02.047-05:002014-11-23T22:49:02.047-05:00Im looking to know who the offical publisher or cr...Im looking to know who the offical publisher or creator of Word Q? Thanks so much for that neat site, which if you other readers are wondering if you should click on it, it's from QuillSoft and Bloorview (makers of WordQ) and it's a web application called HyperThoughtQ. Besides working as AT Rainmaker described, it also has one-line of Word-Q functionality without any software download. I'm wondering if it could be used if someone was desperate for word-prediction & completion software but couldn't afford it or wasn't allowed to install it on their school system. I'm still looking for a free word-prediction & completion software, so if anyone out there knows of one, do let me know.P.D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12675550764618413030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2881524300907575797.post-52498085884886187592009-10-07T14:08:08.931-04:002009-10-07T14:08:08.931-04:00Wow, that is brilliant! That is a great way of making topic lists from specific texts my students are working with.

I also found a website that is great for making other topic lists, and it is really fast.

www.1q4all.com/thoughtq/index2.html

Type a word in the search box, and it will produce a list of words that are found around that word. Then, adjust the slider to common or less common, and choose the number of words you want. If you're using Internet Explorer there is an on screen button where you can copy the list to the clip board and paste it into a document, save it as a .txt file, and finally open it in WordQ. To get a comprehensive yet focused topic list, I find it helpful to combine the lists from several related words.AT Rainmakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17801671599620040205noreply@blogger.com
